This might be a ruff, but I am thankful I’m at least getting to hear something from this man.

SoulCulture TV sat down with the creative brain behind the innovative audiovisual experience known as The Bullitts, Jeymes Samuel and fellow collaborator Jay Electronica following their energetic performance at the Big Chill Festival 2011, held earlier this month at Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Herefordshire, UK as the pair have an animated chat about the experience of working together on their joint EP, their mutual musical appreciation and how their forthcoming album came about — with a line-up that includes actors Idris Elba and Lucy Liu.
“This man is an amazing musician,” New Orleans emcee Electronica says of Samuels, explaining why he was driven to get involved in the Bullitts project whilst Jeymes describes their work as “a portal into our train of thought,” gushing, “As a fan first and foremost, imagine being onstage with Jay Electronica, Lucy Liu and Idris Elba — all people that you love… It was almost surreal for me; before I’m an artist I’m a fan, and I make music from that standpoint.”

Last night, Jay Electronica tweeted the link to his tumblr, eyeofelectronica.tumblr.com – which contained a post with this visual in it. It is untitled so you had to watch it to try to figure out what it was, which turned out to be a simple video blog of his recent travels.
But where is the music Mr. Electronica?!!!
Probably the most anticipated project in Hip Hop next to Detox at the moment, is Jay Elect’s Act II: Patents Of Nobility, but today his fans have great news. He announced via his Twitter a couple hours ago that the album is done, who’s listened to it, and sent a special thanks to those who’ve been waiting…

He even decided to let us know who’s about to stunt in these next few months by saying “Watch The Throne, Cold World: The Sideline Story and Act II: Patents Of Nobility (the turn) will set the bar at an all time high.” Probably the best news in Hip Hop all summer. Definitely the best news in Hip Hop so far this summer.

Well Mr. Popcorn himself has probably exceeded his previous level of corny with his latest announcement/ name change. Yes, Diddy, the man who tried to court Jay Electronica, and slithered his way in for a possible chance to sign OFWGKTA and Lil B at the same time by appearing with them at SXSW 2011 has done it again. He has decided to use their catch phrase, “swag” as his new moniker for this upcoming week. He even changed his Twitter name from @iamdiddy to @iamswag.
“I’ve gone as Puff, Puffy, Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy, King Combs – my real name is Sean Combs – and for a week, this week only, you can call me by my new name: Swag.”
If anything, I think both Lil B and OF will most assuredly distance themselves from this clownish act; if not Lil B I know Odd Future won’t find it too cool. But what can you expect from one of the corniest/successful figures in Hip Hop history? If there was one I’d give Mr. Combs here the “SMH of the Week” Award for these antics. His whole posse sounds like the seagulls from Finding Nemo, wtf.
By the way any man who would willingly hang out with Ray J must …..I can’t go there but I’ll simply say, birds of a feather right?

Yesterday, The Science Of Speech concert featuring Rakim, De La Soul and Blackstar went down at the Jazz Cafe in London. The homie Sumit was of course in attendance and caught footage of Mos Def & Talib bringing out Jay Electronica (2:50 mark) as a surprise during their set.
What. Thee. Fack. I don’t know how I feel about this. Im sort of on the fence about it, but yet at the same time curious/anxious to hear it. dahh well!
“If you listen to Jay Electronica’s first mixtape that he had ‘Exhibit C’ on, and if you really listen to him, there’s a lot of stuff that I feel in my heart are similarities. You know, like, subject matter. It’s another level that we’re in tune on, because we’re here for the positivity and to make a change. This project with Jay is gonna be very spiritual, very uplifting, very deep,” he said. “It will be historical.”
Although, this video was made a while back it was never released. Okay Player was given the go ahead by Jay Electronica to go ahead and release the video since making it in 2009.
