Wiz Khalifa Reveals What His Second Album ‘O.N.I.F.C.’ Stands For (Audio)

Inspired by Prodigy eh?

Still, for Wiz the explicit title has so much more meaning. “I was just talking about me being a young rich dude and being black,” Wiz told Shade 45 hosts Sway and Devi Dev about his experience in airports. “It looks crazy to them when I walk up to them and show them my ticket or I’m going in priority seating, They’re like ‘You’re sure?’ ”

On one hand Khalifa is glad that he’s made it; on the other, the racism that he’s experienced has left a bad taste in the rapper’s mouth. “It’s a good feeling and then it’s like a bad feeling because it’s like, ‘Damn, why do you feel like that about me,’ ” he said. – MTV

All I know is that this album better shit on “Rolling Papers”

Just Blaze DJs at Star Wars Brisk Bodega (Video)

This looked like a cool event, I’m definitely going to look out for info on the SXSW pop-up!

Last night, Brisk Bodega returned for a second year in a row, this time setting up shop in Downtown Los Angeles with a Star Wars pop up art gallery in promotion for the 3-D released of Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace. The event was hosted by Just Blaze & DJ Skee and we were on hand to capture footage of Just Blaze mixing records from all of your favorite artist including N.O.R.E.. Watch as Just gets busy and check out some of the art displayed at the gallery, which will make its way to New York City later this month and wind up at SXSW later next month.

GQ&A: Pharrell Speaks On His New Book, The Oscars, “Glory” & More

While at his Miami studio, Pharrell sat down with GQ Mag and provided them with a few updates on what he’s been up to. Topics include his new book Places & Spaces I’ve Been, being a music consultant for the Oscars, his upcoming collaboration with shoe designer Mark McNairy, working on Jay-Z’s dedication “Glory”, BBC Girls, and more. Read an excerpt below and view the full piece here.

“GQ: On Rick Ross’ Rich Forever mixtape you rap, “Black boy scoring his life/ I’m scoring the Oscars.” How excited are you for this opportunity—especially since you’re still essentially a music nerd from Virginia who made it big.
Pharrell: I’m just very thankful. And I say that a lot because that’s the most important message. I answer questions the best I can. But most of the answers usually feel the same. And that’s just me being very appreciative of the opportunity, because, like you said, I’m from Virginia Beach, VA. I’m glad that I can exhibit what we can do.

GQ: Academy rules won’t allow you to say what your current favorites are, but what are some of your choice Hans Zimmer-scored movies? He’s done plenty and won an Oscar for The Lion King.
Pharrell: The Dark Knight music was genius! I mean, Gladiator was great. Pirates [of the Caribbean] was great. But Dark Knight? That was, like, a whole different level of… Read more »
