Going through this for a month now feels like a real life nightmare. It’s been hard for me to deal with since my content traces back to 2008 but me being upset about it isn’t going to help anything or do anything.

Hello All..

As per my previous post a few weeks ago as to why I had taken the site down for a week, things have only gotten worse. If you missed that post, then you’ll be filled in again now..

Unfortunately, AshleyOutrageous.com had been attacked by the malware monster. It was something I hadn’t noticed and by the time I did, it was too late. We had tried everything possible to try and get things back together to only then discover that the root problem was my database. After more rounds of trial and error, there was nothing left for us to do. My database had been fully corrupted and everything, meaning all my content, went bye bye.
Going through this for a month now feels like a real life nightmare. It’s been hard for me to deal with since my content traces back to 2008 but me being upset about it isn’t going to help anything or do anything. So in the meantime, yes we’ve got our theme back with a slight make-over, but were still tweaking things up so bare with us.

And as for now, the content only traces back as far as last Sunday (April 22nd) which we had to manually put in. And it was not fun, I will tell you that much.

But here’s some news about some changes that are going to occur. With all that has been going on in my life over the past few months and feelings that have been circulating in my mind, I believe this happened for a reason & with that said, I’m choosing to take a different route with the site. I will be cutting back on posts basically being more exclusive and selective as to what is posted. I will focus more on my original content – interviews, reviews, exclusive premieres, etc. We will also be launching some new things such as a fashion column entitled “SVRGN SOCIETY” which will be curated by two good friends of mine. But do not fret, you can still depend on me for you daily hip-hop news and music, but I feel like some blogs have all started to look the same and I saw myself falling in that category too.

I want to once again separate myself from others like I did when I first jumped into the blog game back in October of 2008 and show my personality more as well as my love for music. I didn’t just make a blog because I thought it was the cool thing to do or anything, I made it because since middle school I have always been deeply into music. Providing my friends with daily mixes, updating everyone’s iPod, putting people onto new artists. It’s something I have always enjoyed doing and when I found out about blogging I thought why not express my thoughts and what I’m listening to to the world, not only my friends around me. And after a little over a year into it, things just spiraled and came naturally.

I came to a point where I felt like I was getting bored with blogging, but it’s something I just can’t say “fuck it” too as it’s played a huge part in getting me to where I am now. I won’t get all into detail but those who have been following me know. So the situation that I’m in now surely didn’t help to aid that feeling but I’m now looking at it in a different light.

So like I said before, I am going to take a different route with the site. Who knows what else I’ll switch up but I do take a trip to New York on Thursday and feel like the city will surely get my creative juices flowing. I only hope that everyone who has supported me from the beginning, since a few years ago, a few weeks ago, or up to now will still continue to as we start this next journey. I would like to thank you all because without your support, I feel like the opportunities that have come to me wouldn’t have been possible.

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Eric & Rebecca (Miss Dimplez) for helping me out through this time and doing all that they could. I couldn’t explain how much it means to me and I thank you so much.

Cheers to new beginnings!
