A couple weeks ago, a friend of mine sent me an email about Yuna Zarai, and since then her latest album has been in daily rotation for me pretty much. Yuna is a 25 year old artist from Malaysia whose sound is absolutely amazing! Just this January her single “Live Your Life” was released on iTunes and produced by the infamous Pharrell Williams. Yes, Pharrell!!! That alone should give you an idea of what you will experience on her self-entitled album which is her US debut album too. She has also won several awards at Malaysian award events as well.

This Friday it was only right that we use a Beastie Boys song for Flashback Friday. Adam Yauch, also known by his stage name, MCA passed away today after a long battle with cancer. The Beastie Boys are often overlooked by today’s so called music heads but they did have eight albums together, countless nominations and awards, as well as each music video beinf full of character. I just learned today that they will be the third rap group to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The other two groups were Run DMC in 2009 and Frandmaster Flash and the Furious Five in 2007. Rest in Peace MCA, you will be missed.
