The last time we had the opportunity to offer a little critique on Lucid FC (Lucid Footwear and Clothing), our tales of conquest put us at the very heart of the departure of twin designers Betts and Chet DeHart, from their cozy hometown of Atlanta, GA, to the tenacious, fashion-forward streets of New York City. The Summer 2014 collection put at an end to a era, although many of the older, familiar faces that made up the support system for Betts & Chet still remained present in their new surroundings. With creatives like ILoveMakonnen, Raury, Rome Fortune, Mike The Ruler and Luka Sabbat close by, Lucid FC’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection is built on all the triumph that has flooded in between the seasons. After being featured on Vogue, Esquire, Nylon Guys, Complex and Mass Appeal, amongst others, it’s certainly fitting to witness Betts & Chet take inspiration from the 1960’s-1970’s proto-punk era in NYC with this new collection.
…more specifically, the styles of New York based bands from the era, such as The Velvet Underground, New York Dolls, Television, and more. Sticking to the brands classic, minimalistic style, the latest collection features an almost completely achromatic color scheme across a variety of fall/winter pieces. From gloves, to jackets, to boots, this collections features a variety of classic fall/winter essentials.
We of course see our fair share of Fall/Winter essentials that include gloves, hoodies, distressed tees, as well as a savvy lightweight biker jacket(s), but the real showstopper (in our eyes) is the Lucid FC hybrid Chelsea/Biker boots. You can take them how they come (and decorate it to your liking), or you can grab a pair that is already customized, which is honestly quite tastefully done by the Lucid FC team. The additional charge should be worth every penny, especially since this is Lucid FC’s first footwear piece since their early samples in 2010. There is a whole lot to love about Lucid FC’s newest collection, especially since you’ll be able to make a purchase tomorrow (1PM EST), Saturday, November 22nd, at LucidFC.us.
