You guys are surely in for a treat today as the ever-so talented Erick Arc Elliott, 1/3 of the Flatbush Zombies, checks into ‘The Beat Suite’. Often overlooked for his skills on the mic, and even his production at times, Erick is becoming a force to be reckoned with day by day. It’s only a matter of time before more begin to familiarize themselves.
The versatility ‘The Architect’ portrays is quite impressive. As a producer I suggest to keep your eye on, he’s able to give you something with a boom bap, J Dilla feel, to a ferocious banger that often causes mosh pits. So while in New York a few months back, I trekked my way over to Flatbush to interview the man behind the boards in his very own creative space. During our chat, he tells me about his beginning stages of producing, teaching himself how to play instruments, his influences, how his nickname “The Architect” came about, what inspires him to create and more. As an added bonus, you’ll also get a glimpse at the mini live session he graced me with where he dabbled on the keys to a beat he had recently created.
While fans are still eager for his anticipated third solo project “Been Here Before” to arrive hopefully by the end of this year, check into The Beat Suite with the emerging producer/emcee above and look out for the Flatbush Zombies sophomore project “Better Off Dead” to arrive sooner than you think.
